Review: Goody TangleFix

Price:  $7.98 from Walmart

Purchased From: Walmart but can also be found at target.

Promises: Get through tough tangles anytime, anywhere. Detangle with ease, and minimize breakage. Great for natural hair. For straight, wavy, curly, and coily hair. Great for distributing conditioner.

Features: 3 bristle lengths for deep detangling. Lightweight for less fatigue. Easy grip sides for better control. Dual size design  for small or medium hands.

The Process: So of course i'm not going to detangle my hair while its dry lol. I cowashed my hair and deep conditioned my hair and kept it in four sections. I let my hair air dry for 20 minutes then applied my Paul Mitchell Leave-in and split each of the four sections into 3 more sections and detangled from the ends to my roots. Then I braided each section.

Final Thoughts: I absolutely love this thing. I was experiencing a bit of matting and tangling which is why I decided to get it. It was so gentle on my hair and got every single tangled shed hair and knot out of my hair. I would definitely recommend this product though I wouldn't recommend using it on dry hair lol. If you are interested in the tangle teaser check out this review by a blogger who goes by Age in ATL by clicking here

As you can see in this picture I have a lot of texture going on in my head. This is after I detangled and braided my hair.

This is the amount of hair lost while detangling. Keep in mind I haven't detangled in 3 days so this is 3 days worth of shed hairs.

Curly Afro

Interested in how I got my hair like this? Keep reading
I Pre-pooed with Shea moisture masque for a few hours, Shampooed with Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo, and the Deep Conditioned overnight with the ORS Hair Repair Nourishing Conditioner

The morning after I rinsed out the conditioner and let my hair dry some in my turbie twist.

I then Applied my Paul Mitchel The Conditioner Leave-in and detangled my hair

I then did a total of 20 braids. 8 in the back and 12 in the front. I applied Curl enhancing smothie, Coconut oil and ecostyler gel to each section before braiding. I added either a perm rod or flexi rod to the end of each braid and let it air dry over night.

Once it dried I applied my Organix Morocan Argan Oil Serum and unravelled each braid and separated and fluffed my hair making sure there were no visible parts. Finally I used my afro pick to fluff and add volume.

My Hair Journey So Far

So I decided my first blog would be like a timeline of my hair journey so far. So the summer before    my senior year of high school I decided to get highlights and a haircut (bad idea). It was pretty at first

but my hair was completely damaged which prompted me to do research on how to get healthier hair. This is my hair at the beginning of my hair journey July 27th 2011 completely thin and damaged

I joined two sights called K-I-S-S and Hairlista  after watching a youtuber by the name of UluvMegs and learned so much. In the next picture you can see my hair looking healthier. I made it to APL (Arm Pit Length)

I experienced my first set back in May 2012 after doing my first and only glue in my hair was greasy and there was breakage

I began to baby my hair and try to get it back to its health. This next pic was taken two months after while in Jamaica

So fast forward to the beginning of my freshman year of college. I made grazing BSL(Bra Strap Length)

I participated in a no cutting challenge and did a personal no heat challenge as well which lasted 6 months with one heat pass in between. Here is my first heat pass. I made it to BSL but my ends were not so good.

Here is my hair at the end of the challenge in March I made it to MBL(Mid Back Length) but again with the ends .

So more recently I decided to cut a few inches off my hair and I am now back to Grazing BSL in some parts and barely BSL in others. I will continue to slowly trim and even out my hair.

I wouldn't quite call this time a set back because my hair was in need of a trim and my motto is health before length. Happy Hair Growing =)
